Karen Schubert

DIRECTOR AND SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Karen started with Children’s Physio SA in 2012, and is a co-owner of the practice.

Graduating in 2003, she has worked exclusively in paediatric Physiotherapy for her entire career, across both the public and private sectors. Karen has experience across all areas of paediatric Physiotherapy, with the most interest and experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapy, and gross motor development in young children.

She worked for 19 years at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, primarily in a Senior Orthopaedic Physiotherapist role, as well as working at Children’s Physio SA. Karen is highly experienced in the management of developmental hip dysplasia, and in casting and splinting techniques for children. She is trained in Ponseti management of children with clubfeet, and travelled to Iowa in the USA, the home of this technique, for additional training. Karen has extensive experience in the teaching of students and other Physiotherapy staff, and has conducted outreach visits to the South Pacific to teach Ponseti management in other countries.

Outside of the practice Karen is a mum of two little girls, and loves being a dance mum and spending time with her family.
